What it does
Most weeks, Spike Short does nothing at all. That is the design. It exists for one rare event: a small stock that goes vertical in a single session on nothing durable, then gives most of it back.
Who pays it
Whoever buys the last stretch of that move — late momentum buyers, and short sellers being forced out at any price. They have to trade right now. The strategy doesn't.
What happened recently
After weeks of nothing, the market produced what it waits for and the strategy took positions. They are still open.
What it did not do
It did not call a top, and it has not booked anything. There is no result to report yet — only a strategy that finally had something to do.
